When you are missing one or more teeth, the surrounding teeth begin to shift and become misaligned. When your teeth become misaligned this can throw your bite (how your teeth fit together) off. This is called malocclusion. When your bite is off it can lead to certain problems such as teeth and restorations to chip, break or crack, worn down teeth, sore or sensitive teeth, receding gums and or further tooth loss.
