Meet Dr. LeBlanc

A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Dr. Ken S. LeBlanc is proud to base his practice here and carry on the family tradition of superior dentistry into the 21st century. His father, Dr. Andrew LeBlanc, started this practice in 1940. After graduating from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1979, Dr. LeBlanc practiced with his father until 1984, at which time his father retired. Since that time, he has continued to provide quality dental care to the people of Lafayette, and the surrounding area. Dr. LeBlanc has taken 100’s of hours of Continuing Education courses in all areas of dentistry with a focus on cosmetic dentistry. He was in the first comprehensive esthetic dentistry program at the LSU School of Dentistry in 1996. This program is still recognized as one of the best comprehensive esthetic dentistry programs in the world.

Dr. LeBlanc considers himself an artist in cosmetic dentistry because of his ability to create beautiful smiles for patients who thought nothing could be done for them. “I’ve always been involved in doing things with an artistic leaning and always working with my hands. Cosmetic dentistry gives me a chance to bring out a patient’s true character and beauty. It helps to restore their self-confidence,” says Dr. LeBlanc.

Dr. LeBlanc is a member of the following professional organizations:

• The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (general member since 1993)
• The Academy of General Dentistry (since 1979)
• The American Dental Association (since 1979)
• The Louisiana Dental Association (since 1979)
• The Acadiana District Dental Association (since 1979)
• The “Schuster” Dental Study Group (since 1989)
• The Center for Professional Development (since 1989)
• The Acadiana Dental Study Group (since 1989)
• Consulting staff member of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center and Lafayette General Regional Medical Center (since 1979)

Dr. LeBlanc resides in Lafayette with his wife, Faye and their five children. When not creating beautiful smiles at his practice, he enjoys spending his free time fishing, traveling, gourmet cooking, and collecting vintage wines. Dr. LeBlanc’s favorite pastime is collecting antique paintings and painting portraits of family members and local residents. His penchant for portrait painting with oil paints and canvas has been featured in “Lifestyle Lafayette”, a local society magazine. Using only oil paints, Dr. LeBlanc is a self-taught artist and charter member of The Portrait Institute of New York, as well as The Art Students League of New York. He is also a member of the American Society of Portrait Artists. He recently completed an in-home studio that has the atmosphere and lighting essential to his creative muse. He has since studied portraiture under portrait masters such as Nelson Shanks and Everett Raymond Kinstler in New York.
